Title: "When Language MeetsPhysics: Combining LLMs and Physics AI
Foundation Models for Fluid Dynamics"
Biography: Neil Ashton is Vice President of Computational Engineering at Mistral, where his research focuses on computational fluid dynamics, scientific machine learning, foundation models, and agentic AI for engineering. He developed the widely used open data sets: AhmedML, WindsorML, DrivAerML, and HiLiftAeroML. He also actively contributes to international working groups in automotive and aerospace fluid dynamics, suchasAutoCFD and HLPW.
Previously, Neil was a Distinguished Engineer at NVIDIA, Worldwide Technical Lead for CAE at Amazon Web Services, and a Senior Researcherat the University of Oxford. He holds a PhD from the University of Manchester and is a Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and a Chartered Engineer.
