The conference will be held in the city center of Delft. The city is located between The Hague and Rotterdam in South Holland, the most densely populated province of the Netherlands. Delft is renowned for its beautifully preserved historic core, characterized by picturesque canals, medieval architecture, and charming market squares. Its compact and walkable center offers an inspiring setting for academic exchange and exploration.
The city holds significant cultural and historical importance. Delft is well known for its traditional Delftware ceramics and can be still recognized as the place that inspired the most celebrated works of the Dutch masters Johannes Vermeer and Carel Fabritius. Delft is equally the place where pioneering scientists like Antonie van Leeuwenhoek and Jan Burgers advanced the frontiers of knowledge; and where influential thinkers and statesmen, including Hugo de Groot and Willem de Zwijger, left a legacy that remains deeply woven into Dutch identity. Today, this tradition of creativity and innovation is continued by TU Delft and the many forward-thinking startup companies that define Delft’s modern character.
