The Polish Fluid Mechanics Conference (FMC) is organized biennially under auspices of the Fluid Mechanics Committee of Polish Academy of Science and ERCOFTAC. The previous 25th FMC was organized by Rzeszów University of Technology on September 7-9, 2022 (under auspices of ERCOFTAC).

The Chairman of organizing committee will be Prof. Jacek Szumbarski (Warsaw University of Technology), coordinator of the Polish Pilot Centre of ERCOFTAC. About 150 participants, including about 40 participants from abroad, will be present at this scientific event. The conference language will be English.

The aim of FMC is bringing together scientists from different countries, strengthen the links between experiment, computational methods and theory and giving a motivation to young talented researchers for their further development.

6 plenary sessions will be organized (2 sessions per day). The following specialists in the field of numerical and experimental fluid mechanics agreed to give plenary talks:

  • Prof. Jerzy M. Floryan, University of Western Ontario, London, Canada
  • Prof. Krzysztof J. Fidkowski, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, USA
  • Prof. Genta Kawahara, Osaka University, Japan
  • Prof. Spencer Sherwin, Imperial College London, UK
  • Prof. Luis P. Ruiz Calavera, Executive Expertise Leader for Aerodynamics in Airbus, Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, Spain
  • Prof. Daniele Simoni, Università degli Studi di Genova, Italy (co-ordinator of SIG10)

The following 11 thematic sessions are planned at the conference:

  1. Aerodynamics
  2. Computational Fluid Dynamics
  3. Combustion and Reactive Flows
  4. Experimental Fluid Mechanics
  5. Flow Machinery
  6. Flow Control and Optimization
  7. General Fluid Mechanics
  8. Micro- Nano- and Bioflows
  9. Multiphase Flows and Complex Fluids
  10. Thermal-Fluid Problems
  11. Turbulence

Prof. Janusz Witold Elsner Competition will be organized. The competition aims at selection of first, second and third prize winners among the PhD students and young researchers presenting their work at the conference.

The poster session (25 posters) and industrial session will also be organized.
