PC Ukraine X International Conference on

Computer Hydromechanics

October 2026

National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Institute of Hydromechanics,
Kiev, Ukraine

The Conference will be held in a hybrid form at the Hydromechanics Institute
and online using the ZOOM platform.

Overall Purpose:

The conference is dedicated to studying the possibilities of computer modeling in fluid mechanics and the successful application of numerical models to solve scientific and engineering problems. It serves as a vital forum for scientists, particularly those in Ukraine given travel restrictions under martial law, allowing them to share knowledge and stay connected with the global scientific community.

Key Scientific and Collaborative Objectives:

Advance Knowledge in Computer Hydromechanics: To present and discuss the latest advancements, challenges, and future directions in key areas, including:

  • Computer simulation and numerical methods of continuum mechanics
  • Hydrodynamic stability
  • Turbulence modeling and phenomena
  • Flow control and management of vortex structures
  • Computer methods for processing experimental data
  • Dynamics of models interacting with free surfaces
  • Applications of research to specific problems, e.g., (1) investigations of the supersonic pulse jet flows to develop innovative airbag inflation systems for conventional and autonomous vehicles, (2) fractal analysis methods for examination of human breathing sounds or (3) optimization of bridge supports.

Foster International Collaboration and Communication: Stimulate collaboration of Ukrainian and European universities and potentially interested industrial partners, leveraging ERCOFTAC's network.

Facilitate discussions and knowledge sharing relevant to numerous ERCOFTAC Special Interest Groups (SIGs), including but not limited to SIG10, SIG14, SIG15, SIG20, SIG36, SIG37, SIG39, SIG41, SIG47, SIG49.

Promote Research Application and Industrial Links, bridging the gap between fundamental research and practical applications by showcasing successful uses of computer modeling in solving scientific and engineering problems; exploring and incorporating industrial aspects and perspectives addressing industry-relevant questions.

Develop Future Generations of Scientists:Actively engage and support young researchers, including PhD students and university graduates, providing them a platform to present their work.

Involve talented members of the Junior Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (JAS), fostering their interest and development in scientific research from an early stage, aligning with ERCOFTAC's goal of stimulating science-based education.
