The competition:

The 2022 Osborne Reynolds PhD competition offer prestigious awards that celebrate the quality of students and graduates who have been pursuing doctoral level research across the broad domain of fluid mechanics including turbulence, multi‐phase, stratified and free‐surface flows, convective transport processes, combustion and acoustics.

Osborne Reynolds:

The Department of Mechanical, Aerospace and Civil Engineering at Manchester University is a successor of the department in which Osborne Reynolds, England's first full-time professor of engineering, established himself over his 37-year career as the nation's pre-eminent engineering fluid mechanists.

 

In his honour and name, the Osborne Reynolds Day programme normally features presentations by some of the UK's brightest newly graduated
and soon-to-graduate PhDs in fluid mechanics.
