European Drag Reduction and Flow Control Meeting (EDRFCM2026)

which will take place at Universidad Carlos III Madrid, Spain.

Abstract submission deadline: 1st June 2026

Subjects:
  • Theoretical, numerical and experimental studies on drag reduction and flow control, including riblets, surface roughness, porous surface and compliant walls.
  • Use of polymer & surfactant additives, synthetic jets, super-hydrophobic surfaces, blowing and suction, wall oscillations and travelling waves.
  • Flow separation control, transition control, plasma flow control, electromagnetic flow control, AI and data-driven flow control.

The registration fee is 400 EURO (reduced to 360 EURO for ERCOFTAC members), which includes lunch, coffee and tea over the 4-day meeting. It also includes a ticket to a banquet to be held on the second evening of the meeting.

Scholarships:

We encourage the attendance of PhD students and young researchers. Limited fellowships are available to help cover registration costs.

    Meeting Venue:

    The meeting will be held on the UC3M campus in Puerta de Toledo near Madrid city centre. Madrid is home to the majestic El Retiro Park and the world-renowned Prado Museum, showcasing masterpieces by Goya and Velázquez among others. Nearby UNESCO-listed treasures such as El Escorial and Alcalá de Henares offer glimpses into Spain’s rich heritage.
