1st International Conference on
Energy Transformation Technologies for Sustainable Future (ENTRUST)

8th - 11th September 2026
Lithuanian Energy Institute, Kaunas, Lithuania

ENTRUST 2026

The modern energy sector is undergoing an unprecedented period of transformation, with geopolitical challenges, climate change issues, and technological innovations all coming together. Energy security is becoming a priority, taking on particular importance in the context of global tensions and disruptions to energy supply chains. At the same time, rising energy prices pose serious challenges to industrial competitiveness, innovation, and public welfare, requiring a balance between decarbonization goals and economic logic. Technological innovation opens new opportunities for the transformation of energy systems.

The conference aims to bring together visionary scientists, innovators and investors, policymakers, and other stakeholders for a constructive dialogue on the challenges of modern energy and their solutions, promoting interdisciplinary cooperation and the search for innovative solutions for a sustainable future.

The first international scientific conference on Energy Transformation Technologies for Sustainable Future (ENTRUST) initiated by the Lithuanian Energy Institute (LEI) is designed as a platform for those seeking to shape the future of energy systems through research, innovation, and cross-sector collaboration.

ENTRUST is designed as an interdisciplinary hybrid conference bringing together scientists, technology developers, industry representatives, policy makers, and other stakeholders interested in the systemic transformation of energy. The conference will encourage discussion that goes beyond individual technologies, focusing instead on how scientific advances, innovation, and policy frameworks interact in addressing today’s energy challenges.

The conference program will highlight emerging research directions, novel technological approaches, and integrative solutions that contribute to resilient, efficient, and sustainable energy systems. By fostering exchange between fundamental research and applied perspectives, ENTRUST seeks to stimulate new ideas, collaborations, and research partnerships across disciplines and borders.

According to Prof. Dr. Saulius Gudžius, Director of the Lithuanian Energy Institute and Conference Chairman, ENTRUST reflects a broader ambition: “At the Lithuanian Energy Institute, we see a growing need for a meeting place where researchers and innovators can openly discuss energy transformation as a complex, interconnected system. By initiating ENTRUST, we aim to create an environment that encourages meaningful scientific exchange, new collaborations, and critical thinking about how energy research can contribute to secure, sustainable, and economically viable solutions.”
