Bio-Fluid Mechanics and Heat Transfer
Bio-Fluid Mechanics and Heat Transfer is a field that covers highly diverse subjects. Among the topics that are currently being researched by people who have previously expressed an interest in participating in this Special Interest Group are:
- blood flow - flow in the heart, biomechanics of vascular disease, stents, microperfusion;
- air flow in humans - nose, lungs, ear;
- biomechanics of swimming;
- heat transfer in humans - scalp cooling, thermoregulation
- ocean biophysics - turbulence and plankton, vortex interaction with algae blooms;
- bacteria - bacterial growth and flow around bacteria
